GROOM TEAM SANCTIONED CLASSES
Show structure, divisions and awards
CONTEST DESCRIPTION STRUCTURE:
Two-Tier, Open(A) Division, B Division compete separately for the titles of first, second and third in their respective division classes. The class winners will then compete for Best All Around Groomer and Best in Show
COMPETITION LEVEL DIVISIONS
OPEN: Open to all competitors. Recommended for groomers with advanced styling skills, previous successful competition experience and professional conformation show exhibitors and/or certifiers with expert styling skills INTERMEDIATE: Restricted to competitors who have not won two Best in Show or two Best All Around groomer titles OR three first placements from the B Division or Intermediate division at a Groom Team sanctioned show. OR three group placements from a Groom Team sanctioned two or three tier show. Recommended for groomers with entry and intermediate styling skills or conformation show ring exhibitors and/or certifiers with intermediate styling skills.
All divisions are judged simultaneously. Three placements are awarded in each division.
BEST IN SHOW
Best in Show will be chosen from the First Place winners from the Class. The finalists will be determined immediately following each class awards presentation.
The Class 1st place winners should remain in the arena with their dog for evaluation by the Best in Show judge or judging team and then return with their entry to the Best in Show Awards Presentation at designated time and place.
BEST ALL AROUND GROOMER
Best All Around Groomer will be chosen fromeach division as established by the Class placements as follows:
First Place = 3 points
Second Place = 2 points
Third Place = 1 point
1st tie breaker = highest number of placements
2nd tie breaker = highest number of entries defeated
If an exact tie still exists, the prize will be divided equally
BEST ALL AROUND GROOMER ELIGIBILITY
In order to be eligible for Best All Around Groomer award, the contestant must enter a minimum of three Groom Team sanctioned classes. Specialty classes are not included in the Best All Around Groomer Award.
AWARD POLICIES Provided sufficient eligible Competitors are entered, 1st, 2nd and 3rd placements must be awarded in that order to the respective Competitors.
Awards will not be withheld unless there is a specific disqualifying factor, such as an incomplete groom or injury determined by judge or judging team, to warrant disqualification, entering the wrong class or being excused from the class.
